- Design Project Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Project Manager to join our dynamic team in our Head Office in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing design projects from concept to completion, ensuring that all project goals are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, project management, and client relations, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.

Leadership and Management:
- Work closely with the Design Department Head to align with departmental objectives.
- Make management decisions that affect the success of the projects and actively solve the operations challenges.
- Conduct performance evaluations for design project team members and provide feedback for their growth and development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project team, encouraging feedback and innovation.
Contract Management:
- Meticulously review, understand, and adopt project contracts' scope, time, and quality obligations and other terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Identify potential risks and issues related to project scope, timeline, and budget, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage contracts with sub-consultants for specialized services. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Scope Management:
- Ensure that the project scope outlined in the contract aligns with the project plan, design requirements, and client expectations.
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet the contractual requirements.
- Provide leadership and support during the project closeout phase, including documentation, client handover, and lessons learned sessions.
Time Management:
- Develop and manage design project schedules, and collaborate with design teams to establish realistic timelines outlining key milestones, activities, and tasks for each stage of the project.
- Continuously monitoring milestones and adjusting timelines as necessary, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
- Outline the justifications for timeline changes, considering the impact on project milestones, deliverables, resources, and overall project success.
- Evaluate project progress, monitor spent working hours, address challenges, and adjust plans as needed to stay on time and budget.
Quality Control and continuous improvement:
- Ensure implementation of quality control measures to meet contractual obligations, industry standards, company benchmarks, and client expectations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure organized project files.
- Prepare regular design project status reports, highlighting key design milestones, issues, and resolutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the design management and execution processes.
- Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous design projects.
- Conduct periodic reviews of project metrics and KPIs to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Project Management:
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring projects are within budget constraints.
- Ensure timely submission and collection of payments as per contract terms with support from accounting and administrative teams.
Client Communication:
- Serve as clients' primary point of contact, ensuring effective communication and addressing client needs and concerns.
- Manage client expectations, provide regular project updates, ensure clients are satisfied with design outcomes, and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including the status of milestones and deliverables.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and local authorities.
- If disputes or conflicts arise, work with the client and the legal team to resolve them in accordance with the dispute resolution procedures outlined in the contract.
- Address and process any change orders requested by the client, ensuring that they are documented and approved in accordance with the contract terms.
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
- Support Strategy, Marketing, Business Development, and Bidding operations as needed to identify and pursue new opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as construction and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.
Innovation and Development:
- Stay abreast of technological advancements, industry trends, and regulatory changes, and integrate innovative solutions into projects.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions within the section, encouraging the exchange of insights, best practices, and lessons learned from previous projects.

Requirements
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture.
Relevant Experience:
- Not less than 10 years of relevant experience in Project Management in design stage with architectural design firms.
- Not less than 5 years of experience in similar position managing design projects in UAE.
Software Proficiency:
- Project Management Tools: Familiarity with project management software (like Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools) for tracking project progress, resources, and timelines.
- Office Suite: Proficiency in MS Office or equivalent for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Design Expertise:
- Experience on multi-disciplinary design projects.
- Familiar with industry-standards. Proficient in preparing reports and calculations.
Communication Skills:
- Strong skills in communicating with clients, understanding their needs, and maintaining positive relationships.
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in creating clear and concise reports and presentations for various stakeholders. communication and coordination skills.
