Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and the required materials and equipment.
• Consult with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and identify potential issues.
• Develop cost estimates for steel fabrication projects, including materials, equipment, labor, and other project-related expenses.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including material takeoffs, pricing, and labor costs, and present them to senior management for review.
• Continuously monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project life cycle to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and negotiate prices for materials and services.
• Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures to senior management to ensure the project remains within budget.
• Maintain accurate records of all cost estimates, contracts, and other project-related documents.
• Provide technical support to project teams during the fabrication and installation process as needed.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in cost estimating for steel fabrication projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software applications.
• Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools used for cost estimating.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
