Data Scientist
Description
This role requires a broad knowledge of data science, computing environments and programming. He/She will work closely with the genomic scientific team and the Director of the Genome Project.

- Manage the computing environment, storage, hardware setup and software for the genomics lab.
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage storage of the genomic data
- Develop access protocols for the sensitive data
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Monitor performance, maintain systems and upgrade systems with new releases and models according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues related to NGS/Microarray analysis software, database performance and any other IT related issues and outages
- BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science from an accredited institute/college/university
- 2-5 years experience with management of computing environments.
- Experience in high performance computing, clusters and cloud computing
- Experience with training staff in new technologies
- Familiarity with Linux/UNIX-based operating systems
- Deep understanding of large scale databases and their management
- Experience of management of network servers and technology tools
- Experience of managing data storage.
- Experience of installing and configuring software and hardware for a diverse team
- Experience of developing access protocols for sensitive data
- Experience of monitoring performance, maintaining systems and system upgrades
