Description
Procurement Officer will oversee purchasing activities and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. Responsibilities include maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases and maintaining accurate records.
Will be responsible for generating revenue on a monthly basis from general trading opportunities.
To be successful in the role, the person should have an analytical mind and keep up with market trends. In addition the person should be able to negotiate well and ensure that all purchases comply with required standards.

Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for supporting and taking the lead in all procurement related activities for group companies as well as other general trading opportunities
- Must have experience of identifying and implementing general trading opportunities from identifying markets (especially Africa) to sourcing products.
- The person will closely work with the internal and external customers to ensure that all procurements are ready and available in a timely manner for delivery
- Engaging and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the businesses
- Developing strong relationships with the supply base to ensure optimized value and risk mitigation.
- Driving sustainable value from key supplier relationships
- Negotiates and communicates supply plan timelines to internal and external customers and partners
- Drives best practices in strategic procurement based on internal and external benchmarking
- Implementation of cost effective and efficient buying procedures
- Implementation and management of appropriate ordering techniques
- Develop and maintain ongoing market insight and knowledge on current and/ or all changes associated with the relevant products, vendors, suppliers market conditions, economic factors, security issues, tax and pricing, internationally
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/commerce/any relevant discipline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
- More than 5 years’ experience in supply chain or procurement
- Good analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with ability to speak and write in English.
- Strong organizational skills and team player
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage time
Remunerations
- Approximately AED7, 000 per month according to experience.
- Remuneration to be a mix of fixed and variable pay based on commissions.
